Anti-Semites for Israel.
I am both horrified and saddened by the unfolding Israel-Hamas conflict that got spurred by the October 7th attack on innocent Israelis. Stories of Palestinian civilians dying in the resulting IDF strikes continue to be told. Which lead to new incidents against Israelis. An awful cycle. We humans have done this before.
The thing is, I’m a white dude, Irish-American and not religious. So, out of respect to both Muslim and Jewish people, Palestinians and Israelis, I need to acknowledge my grief and state that my heart hurts for all of you and your families as we near the end of the year, a time of celebration for many faiths. That said, my thoughts about placing blame or opinions on how to bring it to an end aren’t needed. Others know more than I do and have closer ties. Who is right, who is wrong — not my place to say.
But, as a white dude living in the USA, I ask this of both sides: please ignore the commentary of a certain group of Americans who share my skin color. Folks that I have named Anti-Semites for Israel.
If the world tuned out the stochastic terrorism now being generated by Anti-Semites for Israel, the world increases its chances of discovering real solutions faster. ASI wants to be in the way.
What is the group Anti-Semites for Israel all about?
Simple, really: Anti-Semites for Israel loves the Israeli war machine and despises Jewish people. Since the beginning of October, these bad-faith actors vocally support Israel one minute and whine that George Soros secretly runs the world the next. Many ASI watch Fox News and OANN, read Breitbart, and use the term “fake news” to indirectly attack intelligent commentary about neo-Aryan bullshit.
In the United States, the Right-wing ASI ranges from religious extremist to atheist extremist.
The religious-extremist end of the ASI continuum believes that the Blonde Jesus will appear in Israel after Muslim and Jewish forces slaughter one another in an end-times battle. Of the few remaining Jews, the darkest will rise up to attack the Blonde Jesus, which will cause him to eradicate them by shooting lightning from his fingertips like a Master-Race-looking version of Emperor Palpatine. Upon witnessing J.C.’s awesome powers, the more Aryan-looking Jews will suddenly comprehend that Evangelical Christianity is way better than Judaism and convert. Afterward, the Blonde Jesus will hand over Israel to American Evangelicals.
This isn’t me talking shit. This is what they think.
On the other end of the ASI continuum are the non-religious haters of Jewish people. They aren’t religious because instead they worship spoiled, racist billionaires and other bully-type white guys. As much as they currently shout pro-Israel rhetoric, they have a tendency to interrupt any talk about the current, resurgent Nazism with, “Hmmm…define ‘Nazi’…”
This camp of the ASI school leans richer, due to their love for the stock market and passive-income financial schemes. The main reason these chickenhawks are rooting for Middle East unrest is that they’ve been wishing for civil war in the United States for the past ten or so years and it hasn’t happened yet. They have been pushing for conflict for so long, they’ll take anything at this point.
Sad, I know. And they think everyone is jealous of them.
For the past few weeks, ASI has been busy posting inflammatory messages about Democratic politicians who express support for ordinary Palestinians caught up in the violence. ASI doesn’t hesitate to call these Democrats “anti-Semitic” even though they themselves are raging anti-Semites. Many intentionally blur the lines between Hamas and ordinary people living in Gaza because they have no interest in truth.
Why should Muslims and Palestinian sympathizers ignore Anti-Semites for Israel?
Anti-Semites for Israel wants Muslims dead. Both religious and atheist ASI think this way.
ASI aims to incite Muslim rage so the cops can be called on individuals and countries can get invaded on the grander scale. Your deaths and any attacks on innocent Jewish people only feed the larger cause of destabilization and chaos that justifies increased militarism by a global Right-wing minority, from Putin to Donald Trump.
If you see their hate speech online or wherever, please disregard their Islamophobia, no matter how ugly and cutting it is. I know: I’m a white guy in the USA, so I own the fact that my experience with discrimination does not compare to yours. At the same time, I share the skin color with the awful folks who discriminate against you. My goal in life is to tear these narrow-minded fuckers’ way of life down. I want to help by sharing my knowledge about what makes them tick, also to say that this crowd hates Jewish people as well. ASI hates both faiths at the center of this conflict.
Think: humanity could make history by bringing peace to the Holy Land. Truly make history.
Only regressive humans, like those in Anti-Semites for Israel, stand in the way. ASI has much in common with Benjamin Netanyahu’s Right-wing government. And ASI is also more like Hamas leadership than their soda-cracker-white asses would ever admit.
Read the opening sentence to this post again. Unlike me, Anti-Semites for Israel is not the slightest bit saddened by this recent tragedy. ASI sees the unfolding carnage as something to both profiteer off of and also gawk at.
