The HBO 2019 Primetime Emmy Award Winner series Chernobyl. Dang.

Just…dang.

If you have not yet seen this intense, heartbreaking five-part epic, do.

The writing grips. Every actor nails their performance. The entire production team brings an unnecessary tragedy that happened in the 1980s to life, showing how the catastrophe could have been avoided.

Chernobyl made me appreciate nuclear power’s potential. Chernobyl also pushed me to understand that greedy, insecure men with power fantasies should not be handed the keys to such potential. Corners get cut. Short-term gains become more important than long-term goals. In time, the temptation to cash in outweighs the obligation to operate safely.

Precautionary measures are expensive. So are dachas and mansions.

Chernobyl made me think that we humans only get so many chances to destroy this planet of ours.

We survived that meltdown. Will the odds be in our favor when the next one happens?

I write fiction and have two dark comedies available, Fearkiller (Volume 1) and Notes from Trillionaire Island: Fearkiller (Volume 2), as well as Revolutionizer Alpha, the first book in a sci-fi series. I also wrote a story about God. It was weird, but then I decided to make the story and its sequel free. And all of the sudden, it didn’t seem as weird. Writing about God is much less weird when you write about God without charging money for it. My professional site, my trade.
